Biden Wants to Assemble Anti-Iran Coalition: Russian Ambassador
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Russia's ambassador to Tehran said the Middle East tour of US President Joe Biden will be marked by the formation of an anti-Iran coalition.
"Now, President Biden's trip will take place under such an anti-Iranian front, and a line will be pursued to cobble together a coalition of Arab countries and Israel on an anti-Iranian basis, which is categorically unacceptable," Levan Dzhagaryan told Rossiya 24 TV on Wednesday.
The Russian ambassador noted that this stance is particularly controversial in the context of efforts to re-establish the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on Iran's nuclear program.
Biden arrives in occupied Palestinian territories on Wednesday to kick off a high-stakes trip to the Middle East dominated by efforts to bring Israel and Saudi Arabia closer together.
