Iran’s Army Ground Force Forms Missile Unit
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Army Ground Force has set up a missile unit, a ranking commander said.
In comments on Sunday, Army Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari said the missile unit has been created in the Ground Force.
He also unveiled plans to reform the Ground Force’s equipment and introduce new gear suitable for rapid reaction operations.
The commander noted that the Army Ground Force has focused efforts on developing automated and smart ordnance capable of hitting targets at long distances with pinpoint accuracy.
Iranian military technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.
Tehran has always assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to regional countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
