Dozens of Industrial Projects Get Underway in Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi inaugurated 48 major industrial projects on Sunday.

Economy

The projects include big industrial plants in 13 provinces across the country.

The projects will be carried out with a total investment of $17 billion.

The new plants and companies in the mining, steel, copper, oil and gas industries are projected to generate $11 billion in export incomes per annum, produce 54 million tons of mineral, metal and petrochemical products, and create 21,000 direct and 64,000 indirect jobs.

Following recent remarks by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei about the need for a strategic road map to development of Iran’s industries, Raisi assigned his vice president last week to form a task force to formulate the road map.

The president has ordered plans to launch a movement and form a working group consisting of specialists and experts in this field in the government, scientific societies, scholars and entrepreneurs to make attempts to implement the instructions of Ayatollah Khamenei.
