Outsiders to Get Taste of Own Medicine, IRGC General Warns
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri cautioned extra-regional forces that Iran will make their belligerent plots backfire.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of “Payambar-e Azam 17 (The Great Prophet)” war game in southern Iran on Tuesday, Rear Admiral Tangsiri said the Iranian armed forces are fully prepared to counter the foreign aggressors.
“If an ultra-regional force intends to start a fire in the region, we will bounce that fire against itself and will set it ablaze,” the commander warned.
He said the ongoing military drill sends the enemies the message that Iran will never tolerate any threat against its territorial waters.
However, he noted, the war game assures the friendly countries in the region of Iran’s push for peace, friendship and fraternity. “We the regional countries can fully ensure the security of the Persian Gulf and common waters with collective cooperation and collaboration, as there is no need for the presence of the ultra-regional countries in here.”
The general also said that a series of modern homegrown equipment and weapons have been utilized in the war game to practice defending the country’s coasts, islands and territorial waters.
Brand-new speedboats that reach a velocity of 95 knots and can fire missiles have also been employed in the drill, he added.
The war game covers the coastlines of the southern provinces of Hormozgan, Bushehr and Khuzestan.
