Iran, Qatar Discuss Persian Gulf Security

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Qatar weighed plans for mutual cooperation to ensure security and stability in the Persian Gulf.

In a telephone conversation on Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Qatari counterpart Mohammad bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani talked about a range of issues, including regional security.

The two senior diplomats discussed ways to bolster the political and economic ties between Iran and Qatar and also develop interactions between the private sectors of the two countries.

They also held negotiations about the latest developments in the region and the collective cooperation in order to maintain peace, stability and security in the Persian Gulf.

Iranian officials have always stressed the need for the establishment of a regional security system with the participation of all Persian Gulf countries.
