In a Wednesday message for his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President Raisi congratulated the Republic of Uzbekistan on the Independence Day, a national holiday celebrated in the Central Asian nation on September 1.

In the message, the president expressed hope that the deep-rooted and strong bonds between the Iranian and Uzbek nations as well as the firm resolve of their officials would result in closer interaction between the two Muslim countries.

President Raisi also hoped that close cooperation among the regional countries and the complete settlement of the threats and problems would help promote regional stability, welfare and security.

President Raisi, who took office last month, has emphasized that the main priority in his administration’s foreign policy agenda is maintaining close and friendly relations with the regional and neighboring countries.
