TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf traveled to Moscow to deliver what he called “an important message” about mutual cooperation and strategic ties with Russia.

Speaking to reporters before leaving Tehran on Sunday, Qalibaf said he is passing on an important message within the framework of the emphasis that Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has always placed on the strategic relations and mutual cooperation with Russia.

Hailing the growing economic, parliamentary, defense, security, industrial, technological, scientific and academic cooperation between Iran and Russia, the top MP said the two countries have a lot in common.

“Such ample commonalities push us to take common regional and international opportunities to serve the interests of people of the two countries and the region with more appropriate arrangements,” he added.

The senior Iranian lawmaker is going to hold talks with Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Viktorovich Volodin and officials of the Security Council of Russia in the three-day visit.
