Iran President Inaugurates over 1,500 Educational, Medical Projects

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Thursday launched more than 1,500 educational, welfare, and medical projects across the country.

In a videoconference held on Thursday morning, Rouhani inaugurated 1,422 pedagogical plans and 124 educational projects across the country.

Four educational welfare plans were also unveiled by the president in the provinces of Tehran, Kerman, Fars, and Ardabil.

The Iranian president also launched three major medical projects and hospitals in the provinces of Kerman and Qom and the city of Mashhad amid the COVID-19 crisis.

Rouhani recently said that the weekly launches of major projects in Iran prove that the country is on the path of production and development despite US sanctions.

Through their economic pressures, the enemies assumed that Iran will kneel down before them, the president said in August, adding that inauguration of so many projects will send the message of power to the US, Zionists and reactionary states in the region.

The US has ratcheted up pressure on Iran since May 2018 after withdrawing from the 2015 nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and imposing sanctions on the country.
