Most of Iraqi demonstrators showed their protest to governments’ policies through peaceful chants and gatherings while police and security forces in the capital Baghdad stood alongside the people to ensure the security of participants.
Iraq's top Shiite cleric Ayatollah Sistani said on Friday that security forces must not allow attacks on public and private property.
“Real reform and change in the country has to be through peaceful methods,” a representative of the cleric said during a sermon in the holy city of Karbala.

Meanwhile, pictures of the Iraqi Interior Minister Yassin al-Yasseri was emerged online showing him in Tahrir Square while he was reassuring protesters that the security forces would "protect" them, his office said in a statement.
