Terrorists Suffer Losses after Failed Attack in Syria’s Hama

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Syrian army troops repelled an attack by Takfiri militants in the country's central province of Hama, inflicting major losses on them.

Syrian army units carried out attacks against militants’ positions near Al-Mileh hilltops and town of Wadi Othman in Hama northern countryside after they tried to sneak into a buffer zone in the province, SANA reported.

The report added that the army responded after the terrorist groups fired rocket shells toward the towns of Karnaz, al-Hamamyat, al-Sheikh Hadid, Kafr Houd, al-Jdeida and al-Jalma in Hama northern countryside.

Under a deal reached following a meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in September, all militants should have withdrawn from the demilitarization zone by October 15.

However, al-Qaeda-linked Takfiri terrorists said they refuse to either leave the buffer zone or hand over their weapons.
