Syria Artillery Shells Terrorists’ Positions in Hama

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Syrian military shelled the positions of terrorists in three northern districts in the central province of Hama after they violated a buffer zone deal there.

The Syrian army used mortar rounds to pound the positions of al-Nusra terrorists on the outskirts of towns of al-Janabra, al-Latamina and Kafr Zeita, SANA reported.

The shelling resulted in the killing of dozens of the terrorists and destroying their equipment.

The army also thwarted an infiltration attempt by the terrorists in the direction of Hasraya and al-Arba’en villages, inflicting heavy losses upon them in personnel and equipment.

The clashes broke out in a planned buffer zone, which surrounds Idlib and also parts of the adjacent provinces of Aleppo and Hama.

Under a deal reached following a meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in September, all militants should have withdrawn from the demilitarization zone by October 15.
