Commander: Air Defense Iran’s Impenetrable Shield
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Air Defense commander assured the nation that his forces have created an impenetrable shield protecting the country’s airspace against hostile actions.
Speaking to reporters in Tehran on Saturday, Brigadier General Alireza Sabahi Fard said the Iranian Armed Forces have prevented the enemies from taking any action against the Islamic Republic under the teachings of late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini.
He also assured Iranians that the Air Defense has gained advanced homegrown equipment that have created an “iron barrier” against any potential invasion by adversaries.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, commander-in-chief of the Iranian Armed Forces, put Brigadier General Sabahi Fard in charge of the Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base (the central headquarters of Iran’s Air Defense) in May.
In his decree, the Leader called for “increased growth and strength of the anti-aircraft organization, along with identifying goals and actions of the enemies, enhancement of training, updated maintenance of tools and equipment, and awareness and timely preparations using various methods in countering aircraft.”
