Yemen’s Ansarullah Forces Possess Advanced Arms: Spokesman

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesman of Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah Movement, Mohammad Abdulsalam, said the forces of the Arabian Peninsula country possess special and advanced weapons to counter the Saudi-led aggression.

“Special and advanced weapons and the accumulated experiences gained from the aggressors’ invasion of Yemen and Yemen’s need for deterrence are the assets that the Yemeni nation will be proud of in their history,” Abdulsalam said on his Twitter account, according to the Arabic-language al-Masirah TV.

“In light of political solutions and an inclusive government, these weapons and experiences are the assets of the country's military… and its safety valve, supporting its sovereignty and independence,” he added in his tweet.

During the more than three years of the Saudi-led coalition’s war on Yemen, the country’s army has managed to produce advanced weapons, develop its ballistic missile systems, and build drones.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Over 14,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
