According to Tasnim dispatches, the Syrian army managed to recapture a number of towns and villages, including al-Talisiya, al-Qahira and Tel al-Usud.
The latest developments came after the Syrian troops on Friday began a massive attack against Takfiri terrorists in Hama in a bid to liberate militant-held areas.
Foreign-backed militants launched an attack in Hama at the end of August, capturing a series of towns and villages.
The army troops, backed by Syrian and Russian warplanes, have so far succeeded in fortifying their positions in several areas of the province despite Takfiri terrorists’ use of light and heavy weaponry.
The report added that the army continues to make advances in the region and is resolved to clear the area of the Takfiri terrorists.
Syria has been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with various terrorist groups, including Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL), currently controlling parts of it.
According to a report by the Syrian Center for Policy Research, the conflict has claimed the lives of over 470,000 people, injured 1.9 million others, and displaced nearly half of the country’s pre-war population of about 23 million within or beyond its borders.
