Daesh Terrorists Supported by Countries Neighboring Syria, Iraq: Lavrov
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Russian Foreign Minister said that Daesh (ISIL) terrorists are receiving support from countries bordering Syria and Iraq.
Daesh terrorists, who are prohibited in numerous countries including the United States and Russia, are receiving support from countries bordering Syria and Iraq, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday.
“There is support coming from the outside, especially from those who neighbor Iraq and Syria,” Lavrov said before a group of instructors and students in the Belarusian capital of Minsk, Sputnik reported.
Syria has been gripped by deadly unrest since March 2011. The United States and its regional allies - especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey - are supporting the militants operating inside the Arab country.
