According to a report carried by Syria’s official SANA news agency, the Syrian troops launched an offensive against al-Nusra terrorists from different directions on Saturday and targeted their hideouts in the areas of Khan Tuman, al-Eis and Muweilih.

Nearly 100 terrorists lost their lives during the surprise attacks.

Also an unspecified number of pick-up trucks, equipped with heavy machine guns, were destroyed during the offensive.

In a separate development, the Syrian forces severely hit the terrorists’ gathering centers in the areas of Handarat Camp and Abd Rabbeh in the northern outskirts of Aleppo and killed 14 terrorists.

Syria has been gripped by foreign-backed militancy since 2011. According to a February report by the Syrian Center for Policy Research, the conflict in Syria has claimed the lives of over 470,000 people in total.
