Yemeni Ansarullah Delegation Meets Iran’s Deputy FM in Tehran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A group of Yemen’s Ansarullah political council members, headed by Mohammad al-Bukhaiti, on Sunday met with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian.

At the meeting, the Iranian diplomat pointed to the recent talks of the Yemeni groups in Switzerland, and expressed the hope that they could reach an agreement ensuring interests of the Yemeni nation.

He noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s stance towards Yemen has always been in line with “maintaining the people’s interests”, adding, “We support the dialogue among different Yemeni sides and achieving a political solution to the Yemeni crisis.”

He also said that the attacks on the Yemeni institutions, residential areas, cities and villages have further complicated the situation and paved the way for exploitation of the terrorist groups.

Al-Bukhaiti, for his part, welcomed Iran’s efforts aimed at putting an end to war and dispatch of humanitarian aids to Yemen.

He said the popular resistance in Yemen is “in favorable status”, and said army and popular committees were able to ensure security of regions that are under their control.
