Commander Highlights Air Defense Base’s Progress in Making Weapons, Equipment

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Commander of Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili praised major strides taken by the Iranian experts toward self-sufficiency in the area of defense, saying the air defense base is “moving forward” in manufacturing weapons and military equipment.

“Regarding weapons and equipment, the (Khatam al-Anbia) Air Defense Base is benefitting from domestic and local capabilities,” Brigadier General Esmaili said in a speech in the northern province of Semnan on Monday.

“With the help of God, the base is moving forward in this area (homegrown weapons and military equipment),” he added.

The commander further lauded the spirit of the Iranian armed forces, saying that the country’s main asset is its faithful and devoted youths.

The Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.

Iran has already made it clear that its military might poses no threat to the regional countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
