China’s Air Force Seeks Enhanced Cooperation with Iran’s: Commander
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Commander of China’s Air Force Ma Xiaotian on Monday called for deeper cooperation with Iran’s Air Force.
"(We) hope that cooperation can go up another level," Reuters quoted Ma as saying on Monday.
The senior Chinese military official made the remark in a meeting with visiting Iranian Air Force Commander Brigadier General Hassan Shah Safi.
Ma Xiaotian told Shah Safi that relations between the two air forces had developed smoothly.
The Iranian commander arrived in Beijing on Sunday at the head of a high-level delegation and the visit is part of bilateral measures to enhance cooperation between the two nations.
During his four-day stay, Shah Safi is also planned to sit down with Vice Chairman of China’s Central Military Commission General Khoji Liang on Wednesday.
Beijing and Tehran have close diplomatic, economic, trade and energy ties and China played a positive role in the drawn-out nuclear talks between Iran and major world powers.
Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany- also known as P5+1 or E3+3) on July 14 reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehran's nuclear program.
