Media reports have quoted officials at Iran's Red Crescent Society (IRCS) that lethal torrents over the past days have claimed the lives of 11 Iranian people.

6 victims have been killed in the province of Tehran alone.

Head of the IRCS Relief and Rescue Organization Nasser Charkhsaz said on Saturday that flash floods have inundated 11 provinces since September 16, noting that 1,500 people have been provided with rescue and relief services.

Torrential rains have damaged 40 towns and villages across Iran, the official said, adding that 44 people have been saved from critical situation and transferred to safe zones.
