Hollande Condemns Arson Attack on Mosque in France
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – French President Francois Hollande condemned an arson attack on a mosque in Auch city southwestern France, after an investigation found the torching was deliberate.
The French leader said in a statement on Monday that he “strongly condemns this act which undermines the values of our Republic and respect for beliefs”.
Hollande stressed that “Muslims in France should be able to practice their religion freely and safely”, Kuwait News Agency reported.
On Sunday the mosque was set on fire and destroyed at dawn.
Police investigators concluded on Monday that the overnight attack against the Auch Mosque in the "Gers" Department was a criminal arson attack.
