Iran’s Top Commander: Muslims Should Fight Israel, Not Each Other

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian Army Commander Major General Ataollah Salehi deplored the conflicts in the Islamic world which he said have been fomented by the arrogant powers, and stressed that the focus should be on the fight against the Zionist regime of Israel instead.

“It’s a pity that today, the arrogance has plagued the Islamic world through deception, in a way that Muslims are fighting each other instead of fighting against the archenemy, namely Israel,” the general told reporters on Thursday.

He made the comments in reaction to the Saudi-led military campaign against Yemen.

The commander also denounced the mercenaries that have targeted the Islamic world instead of battling the main enemy of Muslims.

On March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies began to militarily interfere in Yemen's internal affairs by launching deadly air strikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

The Saudi-led coalition, including military forces from Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kuwait, Egypt, Sudan, Bahrain, Morocco, Jordan, and Egypt, has killed hundreds of civilians so far.
