Gaza Under Siege As Israel Strikes Refugee Camps, Cuts Internet

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israel has intensified its war on Gaza with a full internet blackout, airstrikes on 140 locations including refugee shelters, and mounting civilian casualties, drawing strong regional and international condemnation.

On the 712th day of Israel’s onslaught against Gaza, the enclave was plunged into a complete internet shutdown as occupation forces launched widespread ground and air assaults across the city.

Israeli warplanes, helicopters and artillery targeted numerous neighborhoods, including al-Zahra school, homes in al-Daraj, areas north of al-Nuseirat camp, Sheikh Radwan, al-Shati camp, Tal al-Hawa, al-Sabra, al-Maghribi, al-Bureij camp and several other districts.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reported 59 people killed and 386 wounded in the past 24 hours. Since March 18, when Israel resumed its offensive, 12,413 Palestinians have been killed and 53,271 injured. Overall, since October 7, 2023, the death toll in Gaza has risen to 64,964, with 165,312 wounded. Many bodies remain trapped beneath rubble.

Al Jazeera confirmed that internet service across Gaza has been cut amid the escalation. The Israeli army admitted it struck 140 sites in the city within a single day.

In Khan Younis, Israeli aircraft bombed tents of displaced Palestinians in al-Mawasi — an area Israel had designated as “safe.” Five people were killed and others wounded.

Israeli media also reported a rocket launched from Yemen toward occupied territory, intercepted by defense systems, while sirens sounded in Ramon near Eilat after a drone intrusion.

Qatar condemned Israel’s ground push into Gaza, calling it “an extension of genocidal war against the Palestinian people and a flagrant violation of international law.” Yemen’s Foreign Ministry criticized Arab and Islamic leaders for failing to take concrete steps in defense of Palestine, stressing that “the Zionists only understand the language of force.”

Local Palestinian sources confirmed further Israeli airstrikes late in the day on Sheikh Radwan in northwest Gaza.

The continuing massacres, the communications blackout, and the targeting of so-called safe zones underline the intensification of Israel’s war, leaving Gaza isolated under relentless assault and fueling global outrage against genocide.
