Air Defense Chief Warns of Iran’s Firm Response to Hostile Moves

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The commander of the Iranian Army’s Air Defense Force highlighted the country’s full preparedness to combat threats, warning the enemies that any wrong move will be met with Tehran’s decisive reaction.

“The enemy is aware of the preparedness of the Islamic Iran’s personnel and defense systems and knows that any mistake will be met with a resolute response,” Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard said on Sunday.

He also noted that Iran’s air defense forces have become self-sufficient in the field of producing the detection, surveillance and signaling systems as well as training manpower.

“The busy skies of the Persian Gulf are under continuous monitoring by (Iran’s) air defense,” the general stated, Press TV reported.

He highlighted the preparedness of Iran’s southeast air defense zone given the high number of flights over the Persian Gulf, saying, “Today, with God’s help, this zone enjoys a watchful and agile unit.”

In remarks in 2018, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei described the air defense base as a very crucial part of the Armed Forces that is at the frontline of confronting enemies of Iran.

The Leader also stressed the importance of accelerating the capabilities of the base and the Air Forces' staff.
