Iran, China Discuss Defense Issues, Threats to World Security
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Ranking military commanders from Iran and China talked about procedures for ensuring regional and international security and addressing threats to global stability.
Deputy Chief of the Iranian Army for Coordination Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari, who is China to attend the 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, paid a visit to the National Defense University of People's Liberation Army of China on Saturday.
He also took part in a meeting of the Chinese military think tank.
During his visit to the National Defense University of China, Rear Admiral Sayyari and senior Chinese commanders discussed various aspects of security, including domestic and foreign security, and the latest developments in the West Asia region.
Also in talks with members of the Chinese military think tank, the Iranian general and the Chinese officials described defense and security as the main concerns of every political system.
They also discussed different types of threats and the issues that jeopardize international security.
The 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum was held at the Beijing International Convention Center from September 12 to 14.
The theme of this year’s forum was “Promoting Peace for a Shared Future”.
Participants in the forum discussed the role of the Global South countries in international security, improving international security mechanisms, maintaining peace and development in the Asia-Pacific region, and achieving a balanced and orderly multipolar world.
